Feeling Like the Oyster Who Swallowed The Sand.
Will this become a pearl?
I'm agitated today... lately, really. How is it that I can LOVE the Lord Jesus so much, love His people so deeply, love drinking in the Word.... and yet truthfully, be very bored with Sunday church?
Shouldn't it just be more ADVENTUROUS???? Is this big building, structured meetings, one teacher thing really what we're supposed to be doing?
I recently shared an evening with friends that was more ALIVE than the last 6 months of sundays. NOT because church was so horrible, or my pastor can't teach (boy, can he!).... but because the natural, flowing, Holy Spirit led conversation is so FULL OF LIFE! That's really what the disciples experienced, isn't it? We were just boucing off eachother's words, linking verses and experiences.... AHH! A deep breath of fresh air.
If Jesus is still teaching in the temple - and WE are the temple (nod to Clint).... what's He saying today to His body?

Seven or eight times in the Gospels Jesus "puts forth a parable" of what “THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS LIKE”.
REMEMBER ~ PARABLES ARE FOR OUTSIDERS.
On one of those instances JESUS compares HEAVENS KINGDOM to a "mustard seed" that grows to be this magnificent tree for which all the "birds of the air" come ~ and make their nest therein.
What occurred to me is that you can build a nest in this tree as well as find refuge from the hot sun and wind ~ while never being a part of the TREE. {There are two people groups here!}
Jesus continues to CAST parables today towards those seeking refuge from life's turbulance.....and they follow ~ and they NEST... but do they repent and become apart of the TREE that ministers fruit monthly?
Jesus said "I am the Vine and you are a branch..."
He did NOT say you were a bird... but rather ~ a fruit bearing BRANCH.
I came across an OT verse that captures the heart and antidote for young people today who are “agitated“ and that “for so long have been drinking in the WORD... yet truthfully, they are very bored with Sunday church?
This is a GOOD problem for they wont settle for less than being graft into Christ himself.
Hos. 14:1-7
O ISRAEL, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled and fallen, due to your iniquity.
Take with you THESE WORDS and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; accept what is good and receive us graciously;
so will we render [our thanks] as bullocks [to be sacrificed] and pay the confession of our lips.
Assyria {Churchianity} shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands [idols],
You are our gods. For in You [O Lord] the fatherless find love, pity,
and mercy.
I will heal their faithlessness {nod to Sara... “Help my unbelief”}
I will love them freely, for My anger is turned away from [Israel].
I will be like the dew and the night mist to Israel; HE {along with HIS branches} shall grow and blossom like the lily and cast forth his roots like [the sturdy evergreens of] Lebanon.
His shoots will sprout and spread, HIS beauty shall be like the olive tree and HIS fragrance like [the cedars and aromatic shrubs of] Lebanon.
They that DWELL UNDER HIS SHADE shall return; they shall REVIVE like the grain and blossom like the VINE; the scent of it shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
Cheers!
Clint
There's so much in what you wrote... Being grafted into Christ is the longing of my heart. LIFE and LIFE ABUNDANT. My hope is in a living Saviour - and He's showing Himself more faithful everyday. Thank you for the scriptures! I'm so grateful for your insights.
